Mapei opens a new production facility in Denmark
The Italian group has purchased a 15,000 sqm site in Vejen, Jutland.
Mapei, a leading manufacturer of chemical products for the building industry, is expanding its presence in Denmark with the purchase of a 15,000 sqm site in Vejen, Jutland, which will house new offices, a warehouse and a concrete admixture production facility.
This strategic investment reaffirms Mapei’s commitment to expand its presence in Scandinavia, to increase its proximity to its customers and broaden its product portfolio.
The presence of an advanced production facility in the country will enhance Mapei Denmark’s ability to meet the growing demand for high quality building materials, making it a key player in the Danish construction industry while at the same time reducing its transportation-related carbon footprint.
The Mapei Group’s CEOs Veronica and Marco Squinzi commented: “This asset represents an important milestone in our internationalisation and localisation strategy. The purchase of the site will further enhance our ability to offer tailor-made solutions and provide an excellent service to our customers throughout the country.”
The purchase of this new production unit strengthens Mapei’s presence in Northern Europe, complementing its existing factories and sales branches situated in Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Mapei has a global presence spanning all five continents, with 90 production facilities located in 35 countries.
