Maristela improves its quality with technology from Manfredini & Schianchi
Maristela Telhas, Leme (Sao Paulo), a company well known in the Brazilian roof tile sector for its brand name Toptelha, has always been attentive to modern technologies for cutting production costs and improving product quality. For this purpose, it has now decided to switch from its existing raw materials preparation plant equipped with a roller mill (which did not solve the problem of eliminating impurities) to dry grinding technology from Manfredini & Schianchi.
The plant, supplied via the Brazilian branch Manfredini e Schianchi do Brasil Ltda, handles two types of clay, which are first ground by the MAXI-PIG primary mill and subsequently screened and classified by 5 MS/XIV/265 sieves. A PIG/A finishing mill then re-grinds the recycled material. The product is stored in 10 silos before proceeding to the humidification stage using a twin-shaft wetting mixer.
With its output of 50 tons/hour, the equivalent of 2,500,000 pieces/month, the new plant will enable the Brazilian company to improve its productivity and ceramic body quality and offer a diversified product range. Alongside traditional colonial style roof tiles, Maristela's range also includes Mediterranean roof tiles, special pieces, ventilated facades and bricks.
