Martinelli Group launches Kaliber 4.0 technology
The Kaliber 4.0 technology developed by the Martinelli Group’s R&D department consists of a perfect combination of electronic technology 4.0 applied to an isostatic tile mould.
This marks an essential step forward for the ceramic production process, particularly considering the growing popularity of large sizes and the use of presses with ever larger free spaces between columns.
Already extensively tested in a number of factories located in the Sassuolo ceramic cluster, Kaliber 4.0 technology is a single-calibre system suitable for installation on high-tonnage presses with a free clearance between columns of 2450 mm. The company has registered a patent for the system, which meets all the parameters required by technology 4.0. As certified by ACIMAC-designated experts, the mould meets all the requirements to qualify for tax concessions in Italy in accordance with the Industry 4.0 Plan, which allows for a deduction of 250% of its value.
The new Kaliber 4.0 technology moulds are equipped with advanced sensors that serve to continuously monitor the position of the magnetic riser block with respect to the isostatic plate, allowing for monitoring and management of its operating parameters. These parameters can be transmitted remotely to any factory unit, and by using a dedicated app it is possible to monitor the entire activity of the press department. The software is capable of providing a log of the various mould and production parameters and can also be customised according to manufacturers’ specific requirements. The data are processed by a computer and viewed via a simple and intuitive 10.1 interface that alerts the operator rapidly in the event of a fault, reducing costs due to unexpected malfunctions and breakdowns.
The launch of Kaliber 4.0 technology comes in the year of Martinelli Group’s 65th anniversary, confirming its constant commitment to the search for solutions that meet the evolving production needs of the ceramic industry.
