Motto Group starts up System Lamina line
Motto Tiles, a ceramic company founded in Morbi, Gujarat in 2003, started up a new facility in October last year equipped with System Lamina technology for the production of porcelain panels and slabs in sizes up to 1200x2400 mm and thicknesses of between 6 mm and 20 mm.
The Indian company, led by chairman Mahendra Patel, opted for a Lamgea 22000t press which when fully operational will have an output of up to 12,000 sq.m/day, thereby increasing the Motto Group’s total production capacity to 80,000 sq.m/day.
Inkjet decoration is performed using Creadigit 8 colour bar systems which offer a high degree of flexibility and scope for customisation.
In conjunction with the line for production of more conventional sizes, the new plant will enable Motto Group to strengthen its position in both the domestic and international markets. “We export to 40 countries worldwide,” commented Motto Group’s management. “By adopting System’s innovative industrial processes we expect to increase our total production by around 30-40%. We chose the LAMGEA press for its reliability and ease of maintenance.”
The first collections in sizes 1200x2400 mm, 800x2400 mm, 800x1600 mm and 1200x1200 mm were unveiled by Motto Tile in November during a trade fair held in Gandhinagar (Gujarat), where the company won the Best Product Display Award among more than 300 exhibitors. The company will produce products that stand out for their technical and aesthetic quality with perfectly flat, compact and resistant surfaces and engraved patterns with depths of up to 2 mm.
