A move towards digital and large-format tiles also in Egypt

The ceramic tile producing industry in Egypt is rapidly turning its attention to digital methods and large-format tile production, as confirmed by the important orders filled by System in 2013, in collaboration with their overseas branch, System Egypt.

Al Omaraa (Cairo) has installed System technology in its large format sorting division where it produces the "La Beauté" brand. The completely automated grinding division comprises two highly productive lines capable of handling formats of up to 120x120 cm. The products are convoyed using two Easy Line BS 08's with Falcon Portal Millennium palletisers, which sort, package and palletise the tiles. 24-hour-daily productivity is around 8,000 square meter for each of the two kilns dedicated to the production of 60x60 cm format and around 5/6,000 square meter/day for the two kilns for the 90x90 cm format production. Since 2005, Al Omaraa has invested in a number of Easy Line model sorting lines and has kitted all of its glazing lines out with Rotocolor decoration systems.

Art Ceramic (Cairo) - a leader in the high-end domestic market since 2009 - has chosen System's Creadigit digital technology, with the intention of creating a range dedicated to high-quality innovative surfaces.

Another Creadigit system was installed in October at Ceramica Gloria/Al Shark, for the decoration of medium-large format tiles. The Ceramica Gloria order includes an Easy Line sorting and packaging line, directly connected to the kiln for a productivity greater of 10,000 square meters per day.

On the western bank of the Nile, 20 km South-West of the capital, Ceramica Prima has automated its packaging and palletising processes and, in September, within a few months of the order, they installed their second Easy Line sorting line and their second Falcon Millennium automatic palletiser. With an industrial production capacity of 10,000 square meters per day per line, the company produces formats of up to 50x50 cm.
