Nano Tech Innovation formed

Setec Group has expanded its corporate structure with the creation of NTI “Nano Tech Innovation”, a hi-tech company specialising in research and development of innovative nanomaterial based solutions for use with industrial and environmental technologies. Thanks to cooperation with leading university researchers and internal expertise gained in its research laboratories, NTI is able to propose flexible systems for all company requirements.

In the ceramic sector, nanomaterials can be used for surface treatments that provide self-cleaning, anti-pollution and antibacterial properties (elimination of NOX, organic pollutants, unburned hydrocarbons, etc). In particular, the additive BS02 is one of the most innovative products developed specifically for the ceramic sector, lending self-cleaning and antibacterial properties to glazed surfaces fired at 1250°C (an article on this subject was published in Ceramic World Review no. 89/2010).

Other innovative processes include photocatalytic membranes for complete air and water purification from organic micropollutants.
