New Sacmi AVE040 Plus in operation at Cersanit Russia
The new casting machine for large-scale production of quality sanitaryware has been successfully tested and started up.
The new Sacmi AVE040 Plus casting machine, the latest evolution of Sacmi’s popular multi-mould platform for large-scale production of high-quality WCs, has been installed and tested in record time in the Cersanit Russia factory.
A longstanding Sacmi customer, Cersanit Russia has a plant devoted entirely to high-pressure sanitaryware casting, a production strategy that exploits the numerous advantages of this technology compared to traditional solutions.
What sets the new AVE040 Plus apart from previous versions is above all the more compact machine structure (the machine is 600 mm shorter and 500 mm deeper), a characteristic that facilitates maintenance and mould extraction, handling and changeover tasks.
The mould opening phase has also been made independent, with electro-mechanical drives replaced by a pneumatic system that allows each mould to be managed separately.
As confirmed by Cersanit during start-up and testing, one of the main advantages is a significantly lower total cycle time (a minute or more during demoulding), resulting in an overall increase in productivity of more than 3 cycles per day.
Downstream from the new machine, Sacmi has also supplied an automated solution for simultaneous demoulding of the 4 installed moulds ready for subsequent set-down on the conveyor belt which carries the pieces to the final drying and firing processes.
