New SITI-B&T Group plant started up in Gres de Aragon facility in Spain

The new technological plant supplied entirely by SITI-B&T Group of Formigine (MO) to the ceramic company Gres de Aragon, the leading Spanish manufacturer of extruded tiles and trim pieces, has been started up successfully.
The core machine supplied by SITI-B&T Group is the innovative latest-generation 5-layer horizontal dryer specially designed and developed to enable Gres De Aragon to achieve high productivity and produce a wide range of trim pieces flexibly and with lower energy consumption. The plant also includes a single-channel roller kiln of length 57.72 metres with pre-kiln section.
The kiln and dryer are equipped with the most modern systems designed by the Siti-B&T Group’s Greenergy division for improving and optimising the machines’ energy saving and environmental performance.
The thermal machines and storage machine serving the glazing lines, the dryers and the kiln are able to produce pieces from a minimum thickness of 8 mm up to a maximum of 180 mm. The firing cycles for trim pieces can vary from a minimum of 60 minutes to a maximum of 180 minutes per cycle.
The totally automated line is complemented by a storage system with laser-guided vehicles (L.G.V.) serving all the process machines present in the plant.

This project was made possible by the fruitful cooperation in recent years between Gres de Aragon and the Siti B&T Group’s Technological Centre, which performed semi-industrial tests on the customer’s raw materials and contributed to the development of the geometry of the required pieces to facilitate the roller drying process.
