Pedro Casana has died

21/12/04 - Pedro Casana Petit, founder of the Spanish company Tau Ceramica, died on Friday 17 December at the age of 78.
A well-known figure in the Spanish ceramic industry and one of the architects of the transition from artisan to industrial-scale production, Casana was vice chairman and managing director of Tau Ceramica.
He was also on the boards of Sucesores de M. Gòmez, Atomix, Atomcer and Levitile.

Tau Ceramica was first set up in 1967 for the production of biscuit tiles, then from the 1970s onwards specialised in the production of high-end floor and wall tiles.
It is now an industrial-scale company with approximately 800 employees and an annual production of about 16 million square metres.
It closed fiscal 2003 with a turnover of 122.3 million euro.
