Ricchetti, first quarter of 2003: sales of 87.2 million euro13/05/2003 - In the first quarter of 2003, the Ricchetti Group reported net profits of 3.6 million euro, 38% up on the 2.6 million euro of the first quarter of 2003.
The figures were announced by the executive board of the Casalgrande (Reggio Emilia)-based company, which in 1996 became the first italian company in the tile sector to be listed on the stock exchange. According to the quarterly management report to 31 March 2002 (published in focus section), overall sales amounted to 87.2 million euro compared to 83.6 million euro in the first quarter of 2002.

The Ebitda was 12.5% (likewise 12.5% in the first quarter of 2002) and Ebit 6.7% (5.7% in the first quarter of 2002). Unsold stock is 4.1 million euro.

The net financial position displays an indebtedness of about 108.2 million euro, slightly down on the 109.5 million euro to 31 December 2002.
Oscar Zannoni, the Group's chairman and managing director, commented: "In the first quarter, our sales rose in Europe and fell in Asia and North America, where like all European exporters we are being affected by the weakness of the dollar against the euro.
