Sacmi Forni, a convention to celebrate 20 years of success

25/11/05 - “Firing from the standpoint of productivity, energy saving and the environment” is the title of a convention organised by Sacmi Forni as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.

The event will be held on 30 November at 4.30 p.m. in the company’s headquarters in Salvaterra di Casalgrande (province of Reggio Emilia) and will include addresses by Sacmi Forni managing director Carlo Marzi, board member Giuseppe Miselli and applied research manager Gabriele Frignani. The speakers will also include the chairmen of Acimac, Pier Luigi Ponzoni, Assopiastrelle, Alfonso Panzani, and the Centro Ceramico Bologna, Angelo Borelli.

The meeting will be attended by the Italian technicians and entrepreneurs with whom Sacmi Forni has shared its growth and success over the years. It will be followed by a guided tour of the company’s facilities along with a preview of some of the new products which will be displayed at Tecnargilla 2006 (28 September – 2 October).

Sacmi Forni, created in 1985 from the Sacmi Group’s acquisition of a 70% shareholding in Heimsoth Forni, became the sole property of the Imola-based Group in 1994. Through the acquisition of the Eurotech company arm (already owned by the Group), Sacmi Forni entered the whiteware and extruded product sector for the first time in 1997.

In 2001 the new Sacmi Automation division was set up in Salvaterra di Casalgrande to manufacture machinery and integrated solutions for sorting, packaging, palletisation and tile handling. Most recently in 2003, Sacmi Forni created a new Heavy Clay business unit to manufacture kilns and dryers for bricks and tiles.
