Sacmi kilns selected for the ADI Golden Compass award

13/11/03 - The Italian Association for Industrial Design ADI has selected the sanitaryware firing kiln XLNt by Sacmi Forni for the Design Index 2003, a reference book and a quality mark for Italian products or foreign products by Italian designers. It is an important tool for people wanting to discover the state of the art in the sector.

The XLNt kiln, unveiled at the last Tecnargilla, was created through a long-term partnership between Sacmi Forni and Isao Hosoe Design. In 1998, Sacmi Forni and Isao Hosoe won the 18th Golden Compass Award with the Fmp single-layer roller kiln for tiles.

The ADI Golden Compass Award is the first and most prestigious European award in the sector. Established in 1954, the award will celebrate two important events in 2004, its 50th anniversary and its 20th edition.
The award is assigned by a permanent design committee made up of industry professionals, journalists and designers coordinated by Daniele Baroni. The Committee rapidly and effectively appraises new proposals in the sector and together with the ADI Design Index has put together a wide selection of proposals from the panorama of Italian design and production, with a focus on sectors other than just interior design.
