Sacmi supplies new plants to Russia
The Italian Group will supply know-how, technology and machines for a new porcelain tile line to the giant Zao Company Piastrella, which has been producing wall tiles since 1994 and porcelain tiles since 2002.
Its production plants in Ekaterinburg, in the Urals, were among the first to start making this type of product, which it now markets in almost every region of the Russian federation and the former USSR.
This new plant will have an output capacity of over 5,000 sq.m/day of 600x600 mm tile. The order includes a continuous mill (one of the first seen on the Russian ceramic market and the biggest ever to be installed by Sacmi in this country), a spray dryer, two hydraulic presses, a vertical dryer and a single-layer roller kiln with a 2850 mm wide infeed.
Zao Pkf Voronezhskij Keramicheskij Zadov, a longstanding player in the Russian ceramic industry, has also chosen Sacmi to implement its technological/production modernisation plant.
Complete lines for the production of granito, single-fired glazed floor tiles and double-fired glazed wall tiles are currently being installed (the stoneware and single-firing lines will achieve a total output of around 12,000 square metres per day).
The order includes discontinuous mills, spray dryers, presses, dryers, single-channel kilns, laboratories and know-how. Machines used on the stoneware line will allow the company to produce not only salt-and pepper tiles but also streaked, full-body patterns.
Output capacity on the double-firing line will be approximately 12,000 sq.m/day: this line will include presses, dryers, twin-channel kilns and sorting units.
