Sacmi supplies new robotised unit to GSI Sanitari
The project to supply GSI Sanitari (Gallese, province of Viterbo) with an integrated ADS robotized shower tray production unit stems from a desire to improve working conditions of personnel, cut costs and production times and improve finished product quality.
The integrated production unit consists of an ADS robot which moves along a slide (a movement controlled as the seventh robot axis) and the accessories needed to allow de-moulding, storage and automatic car loading. A special rotating platform underneath the cars allows product loading to be optimised. The machine automation is designed to maximize interfacing efficiency with downstream stages, especially drying, inspection and glazing, and to allow for future implementation of large washbasin production.
High pressure production together with automatic handling of articles of considerable weight and size (up to 1 metre or more) considerably reduces physical exertion on the part of the workers and lowers the risk of occupational illnesses. For the same floor space, this solution also increases productivity, improves finished product quality and reduces production rejects as there is less risk of workers damaging or chipping the pieces. Once the pieces have reached the automated integrated glazing units, their surfaces are glazed by special robots equipped with spray guns. The combination of cutting-edge robots and glaze mass flow control systems ensures excellent repeatability and consistent finished product quality.
