Santafé starts up a new line at its Soacha 2 facility
The Colombian company has completed one of the most ambitious industrial projects for the production of facade bricks.
Ladrillera Santafé is Colombia’s largest brick and roof tile manufacturer. Established in 1955 in Bogotá, the company has remained consistently at the forefront of innovation, making significant investments in cutting-edge technology.
Its latest investment was in a new production line for pressed facade bricks, including a variety of special pieces, at the Soacha 2 plant. This facility is one of six where Santafé manufactures its extensive range of products, which include loadbearing and partition blocks, facing bricks in assorted sizes and colours, outdoor pavers and roof tiles.
The new production line, supplied by Marcheluzzo S.p.A., can produce between 4.5 and 5 million pressed bricks per month, or about 450-480 tonnes per day. The project, which represented an investment of over US $10 million, was successfully completed in June 2022.
We discussed this latest endeavour with CEO Juan Fermín Restrepo.
