Santino Bonini has died unexpectedly

19/09/03 - Santino Bonini, founder of Sabo Spa, has died unexpectedly at the age of 80 in Nice, where he moved since retiring.

Sabo Spa, is an important, historic company in the brick and tile sector based in Gorla Minore (province of Varese, Italy). The sad and unexpected news reached employees and colleagues during Ceramitec, being held in the Munich exhibition centre.

Bonini was a prominent and respected figure in the sector. From the 1960s onwards he played a key role in the most important technological innovations that have contributed to improving quality and productivity of brick and tile manufacturing plants.

In 1962 he set up Sabo Spa, then in 1984 went on to found Bonaire Srl in Italy and Sabo Hellas SA in Greece. At the end of the 1980s, the company ceased its activity and transferred know-how to Bonaire Srl, under the direction of Achille Paganini and Andrea Bernasconi.

He had a profound influence on all the most prominent figures of the old generation, who learned technological expertise from Sabo Spa and transferred it to other companies operating in the sector, both in Italy and abroad.

Following the tradition established by Bonini, Bonaire Srl Sabo still focuses strongly on continuous investments in new technology development.
