Serenissima Cir invests in Italian technology

Serenissima Cir recently completed a new 18 million euro plant investment project involving the total renovation of its facility in Rubiera. On 27 June, in the presence of all employees and management staff, Serenissima Cir Industrie Ceramiche unveiled the newly remodelled facility, which was acquired in 2011 from Impronta Ceramiche. The new plant began operation in early July and is expected to reach full-scale production in September. It is equipped with state-of-the-art lines for the production of monoporosa wall tiles and large-format glazed porcelain floor tiles. The Casalgrande-based group aims to expand its range while consolidating the presence of its brands in international markets and becoming increasingly competitive in BRIC countries. The project completes the group's production capability with innovations aiming to optimise costs and resources based on the latest green-oriented and energy-saving technologies.

New equipment includes: a new clay storage plant from LB; two innovative Sacmi PH 6500 and PH 3800 presses allowing for fully automated size change in around 30 minutes (compared to the 4 hours of the semiautomatic procedures); 6 BCF glazing lines with Projecta and Air Power applicators, controlled by advanced management software developed as a unique international prototype by Serenissima Cir and Errevi; a BMR multifunctional grinding line capable of processing both monoporosa and porcelain in sizes up to 1200x1200 mm, controlled by an innovative dedicated software package allowing for total feedback control of the tools installed on the line; a new fired and unfired product storage plant, a new handling system and new sorting lines from NuovaSima; ten Modula vertical storage systems from System Logistic and a new general supervision system designed and developed by Serenissima-Cir and Bluengineering that allows for local and remote real-time consultation and management of all significant process variables.

Serenissima Cir group's Rubiera facility also sets new standards in terms of workplace safety and comfort, guaranteeing larger and more ergonomic spaces for the various processes and the utmost attention to detail.
