Synchrony from System wins the Tecnargilla Design Award 2018
The Synchrony project from System has won the Tecnargilla Design Award 2018, the award for a ceramic project carried out using cutting-edge technologies that best fitted the theme of the competition. A total of eleven companies took part in this fifth edition of the competition (along with the winner System, also BMR, Colorobbia, Digital Design, Esmalglass-Itaca, LB, Martinelli, Sacmi, Sertile, Surfaces and Torrecid), applying their creativity to the theme of “The Three Dimensions”. The winning project, Synchrony, was judged by the jury to have achieved the best interpretation of the theme of three-dimensionality and its potential for production and for use in contemporary ceramic design.
The runner-up was the project Upside Down by Torrecid and in third place Codice Binario [0,1] by Digital Design.
The jury consisted of Paola Tinuper and Paola Azzolini (from architecture firm Azzolini Tinuper), Mara Merlini (architect), Michele Dondi (Chairman of Italian Ceramic Society), Davide Settembre Blundo (head of innovation at Gresmalt), Daniela Meloni (Product Manager at Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola), Roberto Di Gregorio (ceramic sector technical consultant), Majid Mohassesian (editor of Iranian magazine Ceramic World Review Persian), Li Xinliang (editor of Chinese magazine Ceramic Town Weekly) and Paolo Gambuli (director general of Acimac).
