System reaches milestone of 10,000 Rotocolor units sold worldwide

07/10/05 - In the 11 years since it was first developed, Rotocolor technology has established itself as the benchmark for ceramic tile decoration with a staggering 10,000 machines sold worldwide (45% of the machines manufactured were purchased in Italy and Spain). Following an intense press campaign in recent months, the official announcement was made by the Chairman of the System Group, Franco Stefani, at a press conference on 4 October.

It seemed only fitting that machine number 10,000 should have been purchased by the Florim Group, the leading user of Rotocolor with a total of 362 machines installed. The press conference was also attended by the Florim Group’s Chairman Claudio Lucchese and Managing Director Marco Mingarelli, who received a plaque to commemorate the occasion.

Franco Stefani commented, “The System Group’s philosophy is not so much to achieve targets as to go beyond them.” He went on to outline the research areas that System is focusing on.
The most important is that of tile glazing, a field in which the group has been conducting research for several years now. The objective is complete digitalisation of the process with the use of colours such as micronised pigments and lines just 12 metres in length.
In the decoration sector, the Rotocolor system is now complemented by the new Kerajet 100% digital printing technology, a system that will continue to be developed in terms of performance.
According to Franco Stefani, the Rotocolor and Kerajet technologies integrate perfectly and will coexist in the future.
