TA-RO patented by Deair
Following a detailed assessment by the relevant committee, last May the European patent office accepted the application submitted by TA-RO for DeairTM technology.
DeairTM de-airing punches have also enjoyed major international success in a wide range of production activities. Following the outstanding results achieved in the production of high-end products from spray-dried powders in the factories of leading Italian producers (GranitiFiandre, Sichenia and Antica Ceramica Rubiera), in recent months DeairTM has been tested and installed by two major South American manufacturers of glazed red body single fired tile using powders obtained by dry milling.
The two new installations have achieved increases in press output of between 20% and 40% while cutting roller milling rejects from 5% to 1%. This has encouraged the factory managers to adopt the system on other production lines.
One of the main advantages of DeairTM is the possibility of increasing the tile size (increasing dimensions generally also increases de-airing problems) by means of a system of pressure relief valves inside the punches. Further benefits include a lower operating temperature of the hydraulic oil, lower energy consumption of the press, higher unfired product strength and longer lifetime of punches and liners.
