Tellus, conference on new trends
The presentation conference for the Tellus trend manuals, produced by Confindustria Ceramica in cooperation with the communication agency Momar to help ceramic companies predict aesthetic and market trends, will be held on Wednesday 19 November at the Confindustria Ceramica headquarters in Sassuolo.
The name of the initiative reflects its purpose: the Latin word "tellus" conveys the concept of telluric currents, of revolutionising our way of conceiving ceramic products, while the English "tell us" gives the idea of describing or narrating the trends presented in the manuals.
As the association's chairman Alfonso Panzani pointed out in the presentation press conference, Tellus aims to be a valid tool to support the trend-setting activities already initiated by many companies in the district as well as an aid to rationalising the processes of selecting new products.
The conference will look at three macro trends divided up into further micro trends. In particular Telluricamente will be divided into Humus, Treasures, Schegge, Stones and Vulcan; Corolland will comprise four different lines, Nostalghia, Water Colors, Pop Flowers and Kimono. And Talismania will consist of Orbite, Tarot, Feticci and Amuleti.
The following will take part in the conference:
Alfonso Panzani - chairman of Confindustria Ceramica
Phil Taylor - CEO Campus della moda
Orazio Lo Presti - architect and trend-setter, curator of the initiative
Rodolfo Bargelli - trend setter
Aurora Fiorentini - art and social historian
Francesco Colonna - economic journalist
Addresses will also be given by representatives of leading companies in the fashion and design sectors.
