Torrecid obtains patent for InkCid inks

29/08/07 - Two and a half years after the system was unveiled at Cevisama 2005, last July Torrecid Group obtained the patent for pigmented inks designed and produced specifically for InkCid, the digital decoration technology developed together with Durst, a leading company in the digital printing sector.
The patent will bring extra value to InkCid, a system that is already becoming firmly established in the market. A total of more than 50 large Italian and Spanish ceramic companies already use this technology successfully and in many cases are now purchasing additional machines to complement those already installed.

A wide array of products created using InkCid will be on display at Cersaie 2007 and a further increase in the use of this technology is expected after the show.

The success of this technology is due to the fact that it provides the ultimate solution to ceramic tile decoration and overcomes the limitations of conventional systems. The ideas and contributions of the companies that use the system proved essential in the development process.

The main advantages of InkCid are its printing quality, the fact that the surface of the tile can be decorated right up to the edges even in the presence of considerable relief, and the ability to print an unlimited number of different tiles with the same design.
Product changeover is immediate as only the printing punch needs to be changed and the inks are supplied in ready-to-use cartridges and are therefore used 100% without producing residues.
All operations of preparation, control and storage of inks, colours, fixatives, solvents, rollers and printing screens are eliminated. Due to the evenness and consistency of the inks and the total automation of their application, undesirable tones are not created during production.
