US Brick makes $5.5 million investment in South Carolina

The project includes the addition of a secondary kiln and a new manufacturing line, which will effectively double the production capacity of the Columbia plant.

US Brick, one of the largest brick manufacturers in the United States, has announced a $5.5 million investment to modernise its factory in Columbia, South Carolina. The expansion will include a new manufacturing line and a second kiln, which will double the plant’s production capacity and further strengthen the company’s position in the US market. Construction will be carried out in phases and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. According to the company’s management, this investment will lead to the creation of 33 new jobs.

Originally founded in Columbia in 1939 as Carolina Ceramics, the company was rebranded as US Brick following its acquisition in 2020. Now based in Charleston, US Brick operates facilities across South Carolina, Alabama, Indiana and Tennessee, boasting an annual production capacity of 350 million bricks.
