WBB strengthens its presence in Spain

04/02/05 - WBB, the British multinational that specialises in industrial mining, recently built a new 5,000 sq.m warehouse at the port of Castellón in Spain.

The company aims to offset the fall in demand for local red clays with an increase in imports of white clays, mainly from Ukraine, England and Germany.

According to the company’s sources, the Spanish market has contracted by 4% overall but the use of white clays has increased by 27% in spite of their high cost (60 euro/ton compared to 10 euro/ton for red clays). Consumption of red clay on the other hand has fallen by 11%.
