Wienerberger acquires US firm Watsontown Brick
With this operation, the Austrian group has broadened its market footprint in the important US market and in Canada
Through its US subsidiary General Shale, the Wienerberger Group has acquired Watsontown Brick, a historic company based in Pennsylvania.
With this move, completed last December, the Austrian group has broadened its market footprint in the important US market and in Canada.
Founded in 1908, Watsontown Brick operates a modern and highly efficient production site with four manufacturing lines and a production capacity of 92 million facing bricks/year for residential and commercial applications. The company has around 50 employees.
Wienerberger operates 37 sales outlets and production sites (excluding Watsontown Brick) in North America and employs a workforce of 1,350 people.
