Wienerberger Italia appoints a new sales director
Fabio Baldassari takes up the position at the Italian branch of the prestigious Austrian group with the aim of driving innovation and strengthening customer care.
Following the appointment of the new CEO Robert Lang in September, Wienerberger Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the world-leading Austrian brick and roof tile manufacturer, is also expanding its management team with a new sales director.
The manager chosen for the position is Fabio Baldassari, whose many years’ experience working in similar roles at leading Italian companies in the construction industry will enable him to give a boost to the Italian subsidiary’s growth.
Baldassari sees innovation as essential, not just for products but for the entire production process. “Our aim is to supply not just innovative bricks and tiles but also advanced services in line with changing customer needs. For this purpose we have set up a new Project Sales department, which will help retailers, contractors and architects choose the best solutions for energy-efficient buildings in line with current regulations.”
The most important of these solutions is undoubtedly the complete Porotherm system, consisting of the Porotherm BIO PLAN 45 T - 0.09 rectified block and the new Porotherm Thermal T accessory. The system effectively resolves the issue of thermal bridging in proximity to columns, ensuring more uniform masonry and marking a major step forward in the construction of nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEB), with the added benefits of a cleaner construction site and faster installation.
One of the new sales director’s top priorities is to expand the Customer Care service, which will use digital tools to provide a more rapid and professional response.
The company is also strongly focused on sustainability and has decided to carry out a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its processes, resulting in the publication of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its clay blocks.
