Wienerberger takes over brick plant from Otto Bergmann

The Group strengthens its regional presence in North Rhine Westphalia in the field of high-thermal-insulation Poroton clay blocks.

Otto Bergmann, a family-owned company specialising in the production of high thermal insulation Poroton blocks, was acquired by the Wienerberger Group on 3 January this year. The purchase of the plant in Steinheim, North Rhine-Westphalia will enable Wienerberger to strengthen its regional market position while pursuing its goals of sustainable growth and climate neutrality.

“By taking over the Steinheim brick plant, we are demonstrating our commitment to long-term growth even in economically challenging times and further expanding the production of sustainable clay building materials,” said Heimo Scheuch, Chairman and CEO of Wienerberger. “Owing to their durability and their regional availability, clay blocks in particular play an essential role in the construction of energy-efficient and affordable housing.”
