BMR: key technologies for brick cutting, gluing and grinding
The wide range of solutions for brick industry includes Ecobrick, the dry brick squaring technology for faster and more efficient production.
A world leader in the field of ceramic finishing technologies, BMR also caters for the heavy clay sector with a dedicated division that builds on the consolidated experience and expertise gained by the company in more than 50 years in the ceramic industry.
Since 1968, BMR has been selling its machinery worldwide and providing a rapid and high-quality customer service through subsidiaries in the major international markets. The Scandiano, Italy-based company offers a wide range of solutions for brick and tile manufacturers, confirming its focus on innovation and its role as a strategic partner for the industry.
The three key solutions
Specifically, BMR’s brick division delivers state-of-the-art solutions for cutting corners and packing brick slips. These include:
- Multiblade, a continuous diamond blade strip cutting machine;
- the Speed Corner system, an effective corner gluing tool;
- the innovative Ecobrick dry squaring machine for brick grinding.
Ecobrick for faster and more efficient production
The dry brick squaring technology stems from BMR’s longstanding R&D work aimed at making the production process more efficient and improving finished product quality.
Ecobrick is able to operate with a larger number of calibrating spindles than other systems, thereby significantly reducing vibrations and increasing production speed. This means that the brick is treated more delicately and with greater precision. The machine has a robust and perfectly engineered electro-welded steel structure. All the calibrating motors are equipped with a special protective casing and lower dust collection hoods, while the height is automatically adjusted by means of two keyboard-controlled vertical drives. Once the brick of the required size has been positioned, the working pressure is applied to the upper belts by means of pneumatic cylinders mounted on connecting rods capable of compensating for small height errors. Similarly, the width adjustment is also performed automatically by means of a single self-centring motor, while the individual spindles are adjusted via a keyboard-controlled gear motor.
Ecobrick was recently successfully installed in the factory of Ceramika Podkarpacka, a leading Polish clay block manufacturer which opted for BMR’s high-quality Italian-made solutions to fulfil its needs for modern, flexible and efficient technology.
