LB Off. Meccaniche: The MRV vertical roller millis

The research that LB has carried out in cooperation with leading national and international institutes
has made it possible to innovatethe dry grinding process for the preparation of ceramic bodies. The MRV vertical roller millis the heart of the innovative line proposed by LB, called Vertical
Milling System. Equipped with hydraulic pressure grinding rollers that operate on a rotating track
and a dynamic exit type particle size separator, MRV can achieve effective production capacities
of up to 40 ton/h. The construction characteristics and methods of operation of the MRV mill allow
for simultaneous milling of different materials (clays, carbonates, feldspars, aggregate, etc.) with
widely varying characteristics in terms of hardness and guarantee the production of a constantly
homogeneous compound that meets the required particle size values. The MRV mill allows for
highly flexibility operation with variations in particle size from 20 micron upwards. The possibility of
achieving very fine grinding offers a number of advantages:

  • elimination of problems relating to the presence of organic and inorganic contaminants in the raw materials;
  • improvement in the end product's mechanical characteristics;
  • improvement in the ceramic product's surface aesthetic characteristics.

The exclusive grinding fineness attained by the MRV is an excellent starting point for the creation of
products with a high technical and aesthetic content and is also essential for the production of
highly vitrified materials (porcelain tile).
