Technologies for automation and end line - Apple presents Tile Control - P

Tile Control - P (only Planar) is one of the tile control and measurement instruments current most in demand from the leading tile manufacturers as it is able to assure higher productivity, output and savings. It has extremely simple design and operation, consisting of 5 optical sensors entirely built by Appel from commercial components which are fully interchangeable with the flatness sensors already available on the market, a small electrical panel that can be situated at a distance from the equipment, and a convenient and intuitive colour touch screen display.

Along with its proven simplicity, Tile Control - P offers customers advantages in terms of productivity, output and savings. Installing this device directly at the kiln exit (providing the sorting line is not located there) allows for constant instantaneous, precise and rigorous control over the entire production process, and all the leading ceramic tile manufacturers are gradually adopting this solution (Casalgrande Padana and Panaria are already amongst the company’s customers). One advantage of this device is the possibility of controlling the whole output rather than performing periodic spot checks. This, together with the Tile Control – P acoustic/luminous signalling, ensures that the operator is immediately informed when something in the kiln is not working correctly, and depending on the defect that Tile Control - P identifies on the tiles it is able to instantaneously correct the operation of the kiln, thus avoiding the production of large quantities of defective material and considerably increasing output.

This check makes it possible to increase the percentage of first choice products. The equipment also provides detailed production statistics include a log from which it is possible to determine precisely when incorrect production occurred and identify the possible cause. To further increase productivity, Tile Control - P can be combined with a simple marking system whereby all defective tiles are identified and stored separately from those that are defect free.
