The American market from the point of view of the major experts
The world ceramic tile manufacturers are continuing to show a great deal of interest in the US market, which is reporting a steady rise in consumption.
According to initial estimates, sales reached 320 million sq.m in 2005 (9.1% up on the 292 million sq.m of 2004).
This extra 28 million square metres over 2004 was met almost entirely by imports, which also rose by 10% last year to reach approximately 255 million sq.m, almost 80% of national consumption.
The forecasts made by the leading experts in the sector confirm these increases for the next few years.
