The big players in the sanitaryware sector

Ceramic World Review updates the 2021 rankings of the world ceramic sanitaryware manufacturers by volumes of production. Roca, Kohler, Toto and Geberit confirm their leading positions. See who is next.

With a production of 34.8 million pieces in 2021 and manufacturing plants in Europe, South America, North Africa and Asia, the Spanish multinational Roca Group confirms itself as the biggest ceramic sanitaryware manufacturer in the world; its production is sold with the brands Roca, Laufen, Celite, Incepa, Parryware, Jika, and Ying. The Spanish group, which sold its tile division to Mexican Lamosa Group in August 2021, closed the fiscal year with a turnover of 2,053 million euros, up 21.9% on 2020.

The US Kohler Group follows, with an estimated production capacity of 25 million pieces, installed in 15 facilities in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Morocco, Thailand, India, Indonesia and China. Third in the rankings is the Japanese Toto Group, which manufactured 13 million pieces in the year 2021 in its 4 plants in Japan and further 10 spread in China, Taiwan, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Thailand, USA and Mexico.

Toto is followed by the Swisse Geberit group (brands Kolo, Keramag, Ido, Ifo, Colombo, Koralle, Selles, Allia, Pozzi Ginori, Porsgrund, Sphinx), which can count on an estimated production capacity of 14.5 million pieces, installed in its European plants in Finland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Italy and Ukraine.
