Tile Italia unveils ceramic sector turnover figures
Again in 2008 Marazzi has confirmed its position at the top of the rankings of Italian ceramic tile manufacturers. The Group led by entrepreneur Filippo Marazzi, an authentic tile multinational with production units in Italy, Spain, France, USA and Russia, reported a turnover of just under a billion euro last year (976.8 million euro), maintaining the levels reached in 2007.
In second place is the Concorde Group, likewise stable at 2007 levels at 651 million euro.
In third place comes the Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola Group (370.6 million euro, 3.6% down on 2007), followed by the Florim Group (330.6 million euro, down 3.7% on 2007) and in fifth place PanariaGroup with 328.0 million euro (-7.4%).
Like every year, these rankings of the turnovers of the leading Italian ceramic tile manufacturing groups are unveiled in the June issue of Tile Italia, the leading magazine for the Italian ceramic floor and wall tile and home finishings distribution sector, due for forthcoming release and available for download from the website www.tiledizioni.it.
In sixth position is Casalgrande Padana headed by the newly-elected chairman of Confindustria Ceramica Franco Manfredini, the only one of the top 10 ranked companies to maintain slight turnover growth in 2008: 295.9 million euro compared to the previous year’s 294 million euro.
The 2008 top ten is rounded off by the Iris Group, although its turnover data refer to 2007 (267.9 million euro not including Granitifiandre), followed by the Ceramiche Ricchetti Group (241 million euro consolidated turnover 2008, -11%), Granitifiandre, which in 2008 reported a turnover of 219.4 million euro (down 4.3% on previous year) and Emilceramica Group (190 million 2008 consolidated turnover, down 9.7%).
Alongside the top ten rankings, the three best growth performances were those of Gold Art, Gardenia Orchidea and ABK. The Gold Art Group closed 2008 with 13.69% growth to reach a turnover of 90.5 million euro. Some 45% of this turnover was generated by the Italian market, largely in response to demand from construction sites but in part from sales of medium-high range products for the residential sector.
Gardenia Orchidea reported a 4.8% increase to 83.2 million euro and ABK Group a 2.8% increase to 105.1 million euro.
