The 50th i Saloni in Milan draw to a close
April 17 was the final day of the 50th edition of i Saloni 2011, consisting of the International Furniture Fair, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition and the SaloneSatellite, as well as the biennial shows Euroluce, the International Lighting Exhibition, and SaloneUfficio, the International Biennial Workspace Exhibition.
The shows attracted a total of 321,320 visitors, including 282,483 industry professionals (2% up on the previous edition of Euroluce in 2009) and 177,964 foreign visitors (63% of the total). In addition to industry professionals, the Saloni 2011 were also attended by 32,870 members of the general public and 5,967 media professionals, including 5,313 international journalists.
The two initiatives organised by Cosmit in the Milan urban area entitled “The city of the Saloni” proved especially popular, with around 52,500 visitors attending the exhibition “Principia. Rooms and substances of the next arts” held in Piazza Duomo and 3,500 the installation “The Arbour (Cuorebosco). Lights sounds and misty trees where the ancient city rose”.
