Acimac organises Italian pavilion at Mosbuild, the first in-person trade fair in a year
The Italian ceramic machinery and equipment manufacturers will head to Russia to promote Italian-made products
From 30 March to 2 April, Acimac (Italian Ceramic Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers’ Association) will be in Moscow for Mosbuild, the pre-eminent Russian trade fair devoted to building/interior design for the Eastern European market.
The first in-person trade fair to be held after a year in which all physical events have been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Italian collective will be one of the few international groups taking part.
Six Italian companies will be present in Hall 2.8 of Moscow’s Crocus Expo exhibition centre: Breton, Emar, ICF&Welko, Sacmi, Siti B&T Group and System Ceramics.
In 2019, the Italian ceramic machinery industry generated revenues of €135.4 million from exports to Eastern Europe (10.7% of total Italian exports), with Russia the leading market.
Although the 2020 figures for ceramic machinery and equipment exports have not yet been published, the sector has certainly been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, Russian tile exports fell by 3% year-on-year to 27.6 million sqm.
Mosbuild marks the first step in the re-opening of the sector’s international promotional programme, which will continue with a series of events scheduled for the second half of 2021: Coverings in Orlando (USA) from 7 to 9 July, Vietnam Ceramics in Hanoi (Vietnam) from 31 August to 1 September, Ceramic Expo Bangladesh in Dhaka (Bangladesh) from 25 to 27 November and Ceramics Africa in Nairobi (Kenya) from 1 to 3 December.
