Alliance between Alaplana and Ceramicas Diago
Alaplana has completed its plan to concentrate production at its plants in Xilxes (Castellón) and has finalised an agreement with a number of banks to release 20 million euro over four years to cover the company’s credit requirements and proceed with the creation of an industrial group encompassing two or three other companies from the ceramic industry.
The company’s objective is to make full use of its installed production capacity, which is among the most advanced in Spain, with a view to reaching annual output of 11 million square metres. Alaplana, which currently produces 5 million square metres, has already forged an alliance with Ceramicas Diago to transfer the production of 2 million square metres to Alaplana’s facilities. The two companies, together with their future partners, will get the merger process under way in the months to come by defining their respective shareholdings.
