Ancora Group secures 2 million euro contract
Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola, one of the largest manufacturers in the ceramic tile sector, has made an investment of more than two million euro in new technology from Ancora Group for its facilities at Borgo Tossignano and Faenza. This order further strengthens Ancora Group’s Italian leadership position in the design and manufacture of machines and complete lines for ceramic tile finishing operations. The order includes two complete lapping and squaring lines along with score-and-snap breaking machines, a waxing machine, a cutting machine and a range of mechanical parts and components that will complement the currently installed technology. “It’s certainly an important order for our company and one that bodes well for the future as it reveals a desire on the part of companies to resume their investments in technology and research,” commented Ancora Group’s Vice Chairman Fabio Corradini. Ancora is a constantly expanding group that reported a turnover of 43 million euro in 2010 and has planned investments of more than 5 million euro during the three-year period 2009-2011.
Alongside the machinery design and manufacturing department, Ancora is one of the largest third party production centres in the world, specialising in polishing, lapping, cutting and grinding of ceramic tiles. In Italy the company has a market share of around 40% and supplies more than 40 producers.
