Under the terms of the agreement, B&T will supply a complete plant capable of producing 16,000 square metres of single fired floor tile a day. The plant is scheduled for start-up at the end of 2004.
The equipment to be supplied by B&T comprises five VIS2000 presses, a horizontal dryer, two kilns, an unfired product box storage line complete with latest-generation laser-guided vehicles, two floor-level fired product storage lines, three Smart Line sorting lines and two palletisers.
With this investment, Sosuco Group will reach a total production of 85,000 square metres a day. The products manufactured by the new plant will partly be sold on the local market and partly exported to the United States, Singapore and Australia.
Sosuco Group is owned by the holding company Siam Cement, one of the largest Thai industrial groups with shareholdings in other leading ceramic companies including Sosuco Ceramic and T.C.C. in Thailand, Surya Siam in Indonesia and Mariwasa in the Philippines.
