BMR maintains its Italian market leadership

During 2014, a number of Italian ceramic tile manufacturers chose to add value to their production by adopting end-of-line technology from Scandiano-based company BMR.

One of these was Ceramica Fondovalle, which installed a complete honing, cutting and squaring line for sizes up to 1200x1200 mm as part of a recent investment aimed at completely refurbishing its plants and offering more advance product ranges. A second cutting and rectification line for large-format panels up to 1200x2400 mm in size has since been added.

ABK Group converted its Finale Emilia facility to the production of large format tiles based on both Auto-leveling^® porcelain and the exclusive Wall&Porcelain technology. For this purpose it installed the innovative Top Squadra Dry grinding machine unveiled at Tecnargilla 2014.

BMR's close working relationship with the Marazzi group has been further boosted by the supply of an additional 5 lines for the facilities in Fiorano and Casiglie, along with the two complete cutting and squaring lines already in operation at the production sites in the USA.

To increase its production capacity for honed and ground products, Ceramiche Piemme installed its third honing and grinding line in August last year. Gardenia Orchidea has installed two cutting and grinding lines with the innovative Dry Cut system for the production of ceramic strips and large sizes.

As part of its efforts to start up production of honed ceramic tiles, Emilceramica has expanded its existing installations with the addition of a new complete honing line for large sizes together with the latest generation Dry Cut score-and-snap system.

Ceramica Castelvetro and Cotto Tuscania have also modernised their production facilities by starting up an end-of-line department based on Italian machinery from BMR. Cotto Tuscania has received a disc cutting and grinding line, while Ceramica Castelvetro has installed a complete squaring line including the latest generation Dry Cut score-and-snap equipment.
