BMR opens new production plant in Schio (VI)
The company continues its commitment to technology investments in Italy.
BMR is continuing to strengthen its presence in Italy, demonstrating an ambitious approach to technological innovation and in-house production without resorting to outsourcing.
In April 2024, the company completed a strategic investment of over €10 million to construct a new production facility in Schio (VI). This new facility caters to growing production demands and marks a major step forward for BMR, which had been operating in the area with an outdated plant that was no longer able to meet the production requirements for lapping and surface treatment machinery for ceramic slabs.
The new site covers a total area of 17,000 square metres, with 7,000 square metres occupied by the modern industrial facility. This includes 6,000 square metres devoted to production activities and 1,000 square metres to offices, all of which are designed for maximum functionality. The state-of-the-art factory building is equipped with the most advanced technologies for managing the entire production cycle, from design through to the manufacture of BMR’s machinery.
Considerable attention was devoted to energy efficiency and workplace comfort. The facility is equipped with advanced heating, cooling and extraction systems, as well as a photovoltaic array that reflects the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Additionally, the involvement of 50 local companies in the construction of the industrial building reflects BMR’s strong ties with the local community. The new factory currently employs more than 30 local workers and uses exclusively Italian materials, with a preference for those sourced from the surrounding district.
BMR, an international leader for over half a century in the design and manufacture of machinery and technology for the complete end-of-line process in the ceramic industry, has reaffirmed its Italian roots with this operation and is continuing to invest in the country and enhance the local industrial heritage.
According to BMR’s Chairman Paolo Mongardi, the SACMI Group is committed to maintaining its reputation for Italian excellence by continuing to make strategic and targeted investments within the sector and in Italy. The company’s CEO, Giovanni Lancieri, emphasises that BMR technologies are not only at the forefront in terms of digital innovation, but are also synonymous with the highest levels of quality, thanks to an all-Italian production process and rigorous quality checks to ensure outstanding performance when integrated with ceramic production plants.
