Canteras Cerro Negro chooses higher productivity and efficiency
With a history dating back more than 100 years, 1,100 employees and an expected consolidated turnover of 120 million euros in 2016, the Canteras Cerro Negro Group is one of Argentina’s leading manufacturers of construction materials (ceramic tiles, bricks and roof tiles).
Following its recent restructure and consolidation through a series of mergers and incorporations, Cerro Negro has now launched an ambitious technological revamping programme at two of its production facilities, including the one owned by the former Losa Ladrillos Olavarria, a longstanding manufacturer of heavy clay products that joined the Group in 2015.
With the aim of providing a more effective response to local market demand for higher quality building materials, the Group has invested in technological solutions from Sacmi which are expected to bring major improvements in terms of production capability, flexibility and efficiency.
Given the importance of energy savings (following the introduction of new laws that have liberalised exchange rates and introduced stricter rules on the energy efficiency of buildings), the Group has opted for design characteristics that will be capable of improving efficiency in every stage of the production process.
