Ceramic powder colouring: the LB patent celebrates 15 years

The LB Officine Meccaniche patent for dry colouring of ceramic powders is now 15 years old. When Easy Color System was launched onto the market in 1997, it marked a revolution in porcelain tile technology and brought numerous benefits for the ceramic companies' production processes.

The system comprises a method for producing coloured powders by introducing a device for mixing powdered material such as a neutral spray-dried ceramic powder and fine coloured particles. There are currently more than 400 systems installed and operating successfully all over the world, although this figure is expected to increase considerably over the coming months.

Easy Color System is patented, as are the semi-finished products obtained from the process.
