Cerámica Alberdi, continuous growth in Argentina

Thanks to the launch of the new state-of-the-art factory in 2024 and the improvement of the Argentine economy, Alberdi foresees excellent growth opportunities this year.

Founded in 1907 in Rosario, Santa Fe province, Cerámica Alberdi is the leading player in Argentina’s ceramic floor and wall tile industry. Thanks to ongoing investment - over $100 million in recent years -, the company now has an annual production capacity of over 36 million square metres of ceramic and porcelain tiles at its two facilities, one in Salta in northwestern Argentina and the other in José Clemente Paz in the province of Buenos Aires. With its brands Alberdi, Vite, and Allpa, the group has built a wide-ranging portfolio of products catering for all sectors and market segments.

Production utilizes cutting-edge technology and adheres to the highest quality standards, as can be seen firsthand at the new production line inaugurated in 2024 at the José Clemente Paz facility. For this technological investment, Cerámica Alberdi was awarded the 2024 TecnAwards for the best new ceramic factory in South America built between 2023 and 2024.

The new H5 factory is equipped with the best Italian technologies on the market, supplied by Sacmi, System Ceramics, Siti B&T Group, Ricoth and OMS”, CEO Fabian Lela and Director Federico Rappallini tell us. “We have installed a continuous pressing system, the first of its kind in Argentina. It has a production capacity of 25,000 sqm per day, with a pressing speed of 18 linear metres per minute. The plant has a low environmental impact: The kiln is equipped with a heat recovery system, and we have optimised the consumption of water, electricity and raw materials, as we produce extra-thin (6 mm) slabs up to 1200x2400 mm, from which we create various sub-formats. Furthermore, the factory is highly automated, particularly downstream of the kiln.” [VIDEO]

After a challenging 2024, the company expects to see growth in 2025.

As the economic conditions in Argentina have improved in recent months, we expect a recovery of over 4% in 2025 - Fabian Lela explains. “Construction sector investments have shown encouraging signs, and a positive impact on the real estate market is already visible. Additionally, bank credit is being reactivated, providing a crucial boost for construction, and wages have seen a slight improvement.”
