Ceramica Artigiana (Vitruvit) acquired by Synergia group
Synergia, owner of Glass1989 and Karol Italia, has acquired a majority stake in Ceramica Artigiana, thereby expanding its range of offerings in the bathroom segment.
With the acquisition of a majority stake in Ceramica Artigiana (Civita Castellana, Viterbo), owner of the historic Vitruvit brand name, the investment company Synergia has entered the ceramic sanitaryware sector.
The announcement was made on 21 January by Stefano Boccalon, chairman of the Oderzo, Treviso-based company which already has a presence in the bathroom furnishing sector through the Glass1989 and Karol Italia brands. The operation fits in perfectly with Synergia’s strategic plan aimed at developing a product range geared to total bathroom solutions, with the potential to grow in new markets and channels and to continue the process of diversification.
“In view of the challenges we want to take on in the future, we need to be able to count on the structure of a group capable of supporting our ambitions in terms of both product innovation and international development,” explained Stefano Boccalon. “This acquisition will generate significant industrial, commercial and organisational synergies.”
While continuing to operate autonomously, Ceramica Artigiana will achieve greater capacity for development and innovation and this in turn will stimulate growth in foreign markets. The Synergia group’s investments in Ceramica Artigiana will aim to strengthen both the product development and the sales and consulting teams, thereby guaranteeing customers a more comprehensive and cross-cutting range of offerings.
