Ceramics of Italy set to bring ceramic product innovation to Coverings 2024
More than 100 Italian brands are participating in North America’s preeminent ceramic tile and natural stone exhibition in Atlanta.
Coverings, North America’s largest tile and stone exhibition, will begin on Monday 22 April in the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The Italian Pavilion, organised by Confindustria Ceramica, will once again enjoy pride of place at this year’s show and will host more than 100 Italian brands producing ceramic tile and installation products.
Health & Wellness, Sustainability, Timeless Luxury and Outdoor Spaces are the main areas that Italian manufacturers have focused on as they seek to expand their selection of products, and an extensive range of tile collections and installation materials will be on display in the Italian Pavilion.
At the centre of the Italian Pavilion, the Ceramics of Italy booth, “Giardino all’italiana” (Booth #3855), will offer attendees a meeting point and hospitality hub while showcasing a variety of standout products and innovative applications of tile. Designed by leading architecture and interiors firm HDR, the booth will reflect the Italian lifestyle and convey the industry’s core values. It will showcase the wide array of products and applications of Italian ceramics – from floating floors and a three-dimensional grid structure to custom-built benches and tabletops featuring products manufactured by Appiani, Ceramica Vogue, Cotto d’Este, Fila Surface Care Solutions, La Fabbrica, Lea Ceramiche, Mirage and Naxos.
This year, Ceramics of Italy will unveil “Postcards from Cersaie”, a special new feature designed to transport visitors to the historic streetscapes of Bologna and celebrate the cherished memories of Cersaie attendees from the past 40 years. Designed by Fashion Institute of Technology graduate students, with mentorship from HDR, the exhibit will feature a curated visual photography display framed within a series of iconic portico-inspired structures to showcase the architectural charm of Bologna. The interactive exhibition will be located in Hall B – Booth #3821.
Italian ceramics will also take centre stage in a number of events and meetings.
Cristina Faedi, trends expert for Ceramics of Italy, will participate in the annual “Global Tile Trends” session alongside a panel of top industry professionals, where they will discuss the latest styles and innovations in ceramic tile design. This talk will take place on Monday, 22 April at 11am in Room B312.
The Ceramics of Italy international press conference will take place on Tuesday 23 April at 2:30 pm in Room B212. Confindustria Ceramica Chairman Giovanni Savorani, Vice Chairman Emilio Mussini and Director General Armando Cafiero will discuss the state of the industry and initiatives for promoting Italian ceramics. Next, Cristina Faedi will discuss what’s trending in Italian ceramic design and innovation, and Chris Abbate will provide updates on the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition.
The recipient of the Confindustria Ceramica North American Distributor Award 2024 will also be revealed during Coverings 2024. The award ceremony will be held on 23 April from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at the Ceramics of Italy booth.
