Cersaie 2009 confirms its international leadership
The 27th Cersaie, International Exhibition of Ceramic Tiles and Bathroom Furnishings, held in Bologna from 29 September to 3 October, has come to an end.
The overall figures confirm the show’s international leadership position and its importance for the represented sectors in spite of the difficult economic and real estate climate.

A total of 241 foreign exhibitors took part. The show was attended by 83,137 visitors, 1.6% down on the 84,537 of 2008. The numbers of Italian visitors increased by 2.4% to 59,999 and the international visitors made up 27.8% of the total at 23,138.
The numbers of journalists also increased to 715, consisting of 439 Italians (+20.2%) and 276 non-Italians.
One of the highlights amongst the show’s events was the keynote address given by Renzo Piano, at which the internationally acclaimed architect spoke in front of a packed audience of professionals and students about the meaning of “creating architecture” today.
The next Cersaie will be held in Bologna from 28 September to 2 October 2010.
