Duravit, turnover up by 4.4% in 2002
This good performance is due to the company's entry into the "Baths and Wellness" segment with models designed by Philippe Starck.
Exports in 2002 reached 64.8% of total turnover, compared to 52.1% in 2001. Good results have been reported in Egypt, while the financial crisis and weak state of the market in Turkey has prevented the Group from reaching the targets it set itself. Sales have further risen in Germany, the Group's main market.
The outlook for the current year is good. Although the German market is not expected to recover in 2003, the Group's internationalisation policy is bringing a gradual improvement.
