Euromeccanica and rapid prototyping

Euromeccanica, a Smaltochimica group member company and a leader in colour analysis and formulation systems based on colorimetry and colour-matching, has developed a project called IrideInDesign for ceramic colour management and rapid prototyping of new models of tiles.

The purpose of this new system is to reduce timeframes and costs for designing prototypes and to offer customers a flexible and cost-effective tool for developing and customising new types of product.
Developed by Euromeccanica with the support of Smaltochimica for the chemical and rheological aspects, this innovative program allows customers to connect up to the colour database and reproduce all steps in the manufacturing process required to create the prototype.

The program provides all the information needed to arrive at the final model rapidly after processing the graphic designs and determining the colours, formulations and production data. Rather than just a colour selection program, IrideInDesign is a sophisticated tool that is capable of using real data to simulate any ceramic printing process, whether manual, flat screen or roller. The IrideInDesign software can reproduce the required colour with a high degree of precision and solve all problems caused by differences between the digital sample and the end product.
