Ferrari & Cigarini at the Italian Stone Theatre during Marmomacc 2015
The Marmo Bianco di Carrara floor tile, decorated using innovative digital technology from Ferrari&Cigarini, proved a big success at the Italian Stone Theatre exhibition held during Marmomacc 2015 in Verona.
The project, called Tide, was conceived by Japanese designers Sestu & Shinobu Ito and created by Ferrari&Cigarini with a three-dimensional digitally printed image.
The pattern embossed on the marble surface represents air bubbles found in sea water, which during the tide create a moving perspective with a visual change in size.
The image printed on the stone base creates patterns that reproduce the reflection of seawater both in depth and on the surface, resulting in a unique optical effect.
