First Masters course for order managers in plant design

First Masters course for order managers in plant design4 December 2002 - The first Masters course for "Order managers in the design of automated plants" will start in January 2003 and will last for 12 months. This postgraduate course is promoted by Acimac (Italian ceramic plant and machinery manufacturers' association) and organised by IAL Emilia Romagna Ag. Formativa di Modena and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The Master's course is free of charge and is open to 15 graduates in scientific subjects. It aims to train professional figures in direct response to requests from ceramic plant and machinery manufacturing companies.

The Order Manager is the main contact person for the customer, the person responsible for all stages of the order from the commercial negotiations through to after-sales technical support. He/She therefore has to coordinate the work of all persons and even teams (sales department, designers, installers, etc.) from an organisational standpoint. He/She must also find optimal solutions to customers' specific requirements (technical, organisational and productive) while attempting to keep production costs down and respect the requested timeframes.
In addition to the technical subjects (design, industrial computing and electronics, mechanical components, logistics and production planning), the Masters course will also train participants in company organisation, quality and safety, communication, order management, human resource management, project management and problem solving.

The course will consist of a total of 1500 hours, including 510 hours of sandwich training at some of the leading plant manufacturing companies belonging to Acimac.
